Cross Plains Roofing & Construction Gets the Job Done Well!

Cross Plains Roofing & Construction is a local, high-skill, experienced company. We're here when you need us

Fierce storms are common in Robertson County, Tennessee, so much that it's a miracle when a house never needs a major roofing repair. If the latest storm has left raindrops and wind-borne debris pelting your living area, call Cross Plains Roofing & Construction at (615) 337-9823. We have the experience and skills to repair or replace your roof so that it holds up well and stays beautiful.

Ice storms, tornadoes, hail, and heavy rain or strong winds can each damage even a previously healthy roof. The accumulation of damage from smaller storms, or even the age of the original roof, can damage the roof enough that one more storm is simply too much.

Whatever the cause, we're ready to repair your roof or even replace it. We work with your insurance company; all you'll need to do is choose the materials, and you're on the way to a new and improved roof.

Call Cross Plains Roofing & Construction at (615) 337-9823

We are experienced, licensed roofers who take pride in our work. Part of this pride is acknowledging that we must always be learning. To that end, we participate in ongoing training/education to stay updated with the best practices for roofing techniques and installation and with the ever-changing knowledge of current products.

When we repair or install a new roof, it is your roof for your house, so don't hesitate to ask questions or see our progress. At the same time, we are trained to work on the roof, which can be hazardous, so we will show you our work through photos or from the ground; we can't risk your safety.

Like many professions, roofing and construction have specialized vocabularies. Here are some of the terms you may hear. Please, if we use unfamiliar terms, ask for an explanation.

Eaves

The eaves are on the edge of the roof; they hang over the edge to provide shade and keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They also help channel water into the gutters, which keeps water off the roof and away from the home's outer walls and foundation. They may be decorative as well as functional. Fun fact: Before builders made the eaves to channel the water away from the house, water made indentations in the yard next to the house. Someone standing in the indentation could listen to conversations in the house without being seen and was ta-da! an eavesdropper.

Fascia

The board that runs along the lower edge of a roof. It supports the lowest layer of shingles and crucially supports the gutters. The fascia is usually installed on the edge of the eaves.

On people, the fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds our muscles, nerves, tendons, and ligaments. Cool, huh?

Soffit

The soffit connects the sidewall of your house to the edge of your roof. They are the horizontal boards that cover the space between the roof and the wall. Soffits protect the eaves from water damage and provide ventilation.
